Desktop App

FluidGrids Desktop is the full builder and console in a native window for macOS, Windows and Linux, with system notifications.

Install

SystemDownload
macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel)FluidGrids.dmg, or the portable .zip
WindowsFluidGrids.exe installer
Linux (any distribution)FluidGrids.AppImage
Linux (Debian, Ubuntu)FluidGrids.deb
  • macOS: open the .dmg and drag FluidGrids to Applications. If macOS says it cannot check the app for malicious software, open System Settings › Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway for FluidGrids, but only for a copy you downloaded from fluidgrids.ai.
  • Windows: run the installer. If SmartScreen warns about a new app, choose More info › Run anyway, again only for a copy from fluidgrids.ai.
  • Linux: make the AppImage executable (chmod +x FluidGrids.AppImage) and run it, or install the .deb with sudo apt install ./FluidGrids.deb.

The desktop app is the builder and console. To run nodes on your own machines or network, install a self-hosted runner; that is a separate install.

Signing in

The app opens on the sign-in screen. Sign in with the same account as on the web. Google, Microsoft and single sign-on providers may open in your system browser; finish signing in there and return to the app.

Notifications

Notifications appear as native system notifications. Turn them on with the Push notifications switch in the notification centre footer, the same as on the web. If your system has notifications for FluidGrids turned off, enable them in the system settings.

Updates

The app's interface updates itself between releases. Download a new installer only when the app tells you to.

The desktop app registers the fluidgrids:// link scheme. A link of the form fluidgrids://app/<path> opens <path> in the app. For example, fluidgrids://app/workflows/runs opens Runs. Links that point anywhere other than a path inside the app are ignored.

Uninstall

  • macOS: drag FluidGrids from Applications to the Bin.
  • Windows: Settings › Apps, find FluidGrids, Uninstall.
  • Linux: delete the AppImage, or sudo apt remove fluidgrids.

Uninstalling the app does not delete your account, your workflows or your runners. See Account and Data Deletion.
